This is a mild form of head injury which induces a temporary loss of brain function. Though not dangerous it can cause a lot of trouble if not treated well at the outset. It can cause a variety of physical, cognitive, and emotional symptoms. The same sort of symptoms can arise after a leakage of blood into the head (brain haemorrhage). They are quite common, often very troubling, though thankfully they go away with time. The symptoms consist of:
Headaches – these are usually generalised and tend to get worse towards the end of the day.
Poor concentration
Poor memory – this is usually for recent events. Early or long term memories tend to be preserved.
Sleep disturbance – often sufferers continually feel tired and are unable to get a good night’s sleep.
