Consultant in Sport & Exercise Medicine

Dr Tillett is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine at University College London Hospital. In addition to her busy NHS work, she does further clinical work at The Spine Surgery London and The Princess Grace Hospital.

Dr Tillett looks after athletes at all levels who have sports injuries and also works with people who have musculoskeletal pains that limit their ability to be active for work, recreation or day to day life. Her particular interest is in spinal disorders, including the use of image-guided injections, rehabilitation and managing adolescent athletes with back pain. She also has a keen interest in exercise during pregnancy and managing back and pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy.

Alongside her clinical work, Dr Tillett is also involved in teaching and research, co-organising the MSc in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health at University College London. Her current research interests include the role of CT Spect in diagnosing back pain and Modic 1 associated low back pain. In addition she supervises MSc research projects across a breadth of sport and exercise medicine related topics.

Dr Tillett is the team doctor for GB figure skating and is the Governing Body Medical Advisor for the National Ice Skating Association. She has also held medical officer positions in the Team GB Winter Olympic team and numerous other high-level sports teams and organisations including GB Women's Basketball, England Women's Football, World University Games, Youth Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympics, the London Marathon and the London Triathlon.

Outside of her clinical and academic work, Dr Tillett is Secretary to the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine (BASEM) and is Co-Training Programme Director for Sport and Exercise Medicine Trainee Doctors in London.
