Ultrasound is a high frequency sound that you cannot hear, but it can be emitted and detected by special machines. It is painless and uses sound waves to create images of organs and structures inside your body.

You may need to drink a certain amount of water beforehand – but we will go over this with you at The Spine Surgery London – before you make your appointment.

Most ultrasound scans do not take more than 30 minutes and you can have this type of scan performed either at The Spine Surgery London or at The Princess Grace Hospital, 42-52 Nottingham Place.
